After the success of the Switch platform, Nintendo is planning to launch two new models this year, one cheap and the other top-class, according to the Wall Street Journal.

According to the newspaper, the two new models of Switch may come up this summer, the first model will be cheaper compared to the second, which will have advanced features targeting the experienced players.

The cheaper model will lack the removable joy con control arms and will complement its predecessor 3DS.

The Wall Street report did not give firm details of the higher value model, but quoted one source as saying it would involve more than just enhancing performance.

Nintendo currently uses nvidia tegra x1 graphics processor, which is four years old, so the new model may include a graphics processor much more powerful and better power saving.

The report says that the company may announce the new models at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2019 this June.
