Sleep tracking coming to Apple Watch
Apple plans to add Sleep tracking feature to Apple Watch in order to improve sleep quality, according to Bloomberg.
Apple Watch did not have this feature, since its launch in 2015, although it has heart rate monitoring and physical activity tracking.
The company is testing the sleep tracking function in two labs, after acquiring Beddit, a comapny that makes sleep-tracking devices.
The watch offers sleep tracking through third-party applications, but these applications are very limited due to battery life issues. Apple has to extend the battery life on its smart watch for more than a day if sleep tracking feature is to be introduced.
Cuurently the guaranteed operating time of apple watches is estimated to be around 18 hours only. The feature is likely to be integrated with the current Bedtime feature.
