Google folding phone ... Coming soon
A Google official said Tuesday that the company is interested in folding phone technology and has already started testing a range of screens. "We've been testing the technology, we've been doing it for a while," said Mario Queiroz , who is in charge of the development of Google Pixel phones , in comments to CNN. "I don’t think there’s a clear use case yet."
Queiroz also explained that multiple tests on collapsible screen technology are part of a broader testing process for other technologies.
It is noteworthy that Samsung was the first to introduce the folding technique, after the announcement of the Galaxy Fold phone almost two months ago.
That Google would be looking into foldables is not that much of a surprise. The company revealed native Android support for foldable displays last November, ahead of the official Samsung Galaxy Fold reveal that same month.
